Colorado Bloggers Speak out on Health Care Reform

Obama Care

Over the past few weeks there has been much written on health care reform and the current health reform legislation that barely made it’s way through the U.S. House of Representatives. Since the MSM seems gloss over the horrors and details of this legislation, I’d thought it would be good to highlight all the great work that many Coloradoans have done regarding this issue.

Jon Caldara has posted some great video on the horrors of Canada’s health care system and what Obama Care could look like. The videos should be R rated due to possible bouts of depression.

Patient Power has several recent articles and videos on the health care debate that are quite compelling.

The Libertarian Party Blog has an article on how the current health care bill may affect the insurance industry.

Live Free Colorado has a post on how democrats are twisting the facts of the health care debate.

The Seng Center has a piece on prescription drug costs.

Paul Hsieh of Freedom and Individual Rights in Medicine (FIRM) has several recent articles on medicare, health rationing, socialized medicine, and more.

Now is the time to make your voices heard regarding this issue. Write and respond to op-eds and the comments. Even better, submit your own letters to the editor of your local newspaper. Call you Senators and U.S. Representatives and let them know how you feel. Speak to friends and family that may not understand the problems that government intervention in industry creates. It’s helpful to mention that government is already deeply involved in health care and the results are obviously not so good. Attend town hall meetings and candidate forums.  Insist, even to Republicans who oppose the plan, to not just oppose details of the plan, but to support the principles of a free market system of health care. Finally, stay informed. Most politicians love an ignorant public.
