Colorado Springs “Atlas Shrugged” Reading Group
Ayn Rand’s epic novel Atlas Shrugged is required reading for any lover of liberty. Written in 1957, this novel is just as timely today as when it was written. I highly recommend those in the Colorado Springs area to join this study group and discuss one of the great novels of all time. Below is information regarding the group and contact links.
In response to record-breaking sales of Atlas Shrugged, Front Range Objectivism is forming study groups for fans of Ayn Rand’s epic novel in Colorado Springs, Longmont, and Denver this fall.
Sales of Atlas Shrugged topped 300,000 for the first half of 2009, a 250 percent increase over that period last year. Readers see eerie similarities between the 1957 novel and recent events, particularly with government take-overs and bail-outs. While President Obama has said “I am my brother’s keeper,” Rand renounces such claims and champions the individual’s moral right to his own life.
In these new Atlas Shrugged Reading Groups (ASRGs), members read and discuss Ayn Rand’s gripping and controversial novel over the course of twenty weekly meetings. Each meeting lasts ninety minutes; it covers about sixty pages of the novel. Discussion is guided by questions prepared by Diana Hsieh and given to members in advance.
FRO’s Atlas Shrugged Reading Groups are open to any fan of the novel interested in discussing the characters, events, and ideas of the novel in greater depth. They are an unparalleled opportunity to study Ayn Rand’s novel with other friendly people.
The Colorado Springs Atlas Shrugged Reading Group will meet on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Pike’s Perk (14 S Tejon Street) in Colorado Springs. It will start on October 1st.
