Colorado Liberty News and Events Week of 15 June 2009

On Monday, June 15, the Boulder CFL/YAL group will turn in their completed petitions for HR1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 to Rep. Jared Polis’s Boulder office. Granted Rep. Polis already has cosponsored HR1207 but it’s still good to display the local support for this bill. As of today, Colorado U.S. Reps. Lamborn, Perlmutter, and Polis have cosponsored HR1207 (Thanks!) but U.S. Reps. DeGette, Coffman, Markey and Salazar have not. We still need to put pressure on these Reps. and also start talking to Senators Udall and Bennett to cosponsor SB 604, the companion bill to HR1207. Keep up the pressure folks!
Red Rocks Liberty on the Rocks has a special guest for their meetup on the 15th; former presidential candidate and congressman, Tom Tancredo. This is Red Rocks 6th meeting and already they have had great participation.

Petition Drives are starting
Would you love to do something to roll back the increases and save YOUR money? This is your opportunity to do something effective and put government in Colorado on a diet through the ballot box! Don’t be on the sidelines any longer! It is time to also exercise our Right to Petition.
We seek DEDICATED, MOTIVATED and COMMITTED people to sign up and train for two statewide petitions ready to begin collecting signatures in early June through the summer. Read about each of the initiatives here:http://www.cotaxrefor…
and here: http://www.limitprope…
.
We must collect 120,000 signatures on each petition in order to obtain the verified signatures needed. We are working directly as signature coordinator with the proponents of each of the petitions.
Pay is a $1.50 per pair of signatures, for the first two petitions and we’ll add a 3rd petition when the form is approved by the Secretary of State. The third petition will end forever the government’s practice of taking on any more debt.
