The NRA has recently come out in defense of their back-door dealings in the DISCLOSE ACT. Looks like in the end, the NRA is a one-issue group, and has no problem selling off portions of the constitution to shore up that one issue. Currently on the auction block: the first amendment.

Why would 114 people who co-sponsored H.R. 1207 vote against it? Perhaps, the Federal Reserve’s lobbyists threatened members? Or perhaps, most of these co-sponsors were just riding the ‘transparency’ train and decided to hop off at the last minute.
